Responsibilities
As a Medication Technician, you will:
- Safely administer medications in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
- Accurately document medication administration and resident observations
- Monitor residents for medication effectiveness and report any changes or adverse reactions
- Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed
- Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, pharmacies, residents, and families
- Assist with new resident admissions and orientation
- Schedule physician appointments and coordinate transportation when necessary
- Maintain accurate resident records and documentation
- Encourage resident independence while providing compassionate care
- Help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all residents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Successful completion of Pennsylvania Med Tech training program required
- CPR and First Aid Certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Previous experience working with seniors or in assisted living is preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist residents with mobility as needed
