Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the MedSurg unit at Dukes Memorial Hospital. The RN coordinates care with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure high-quality outcomes and a compassionate environment for patients and families.

Licensure as an RN with current state approval and BCLS are required; ACLS/PALS may be preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience or student rotations in acute care.
• Strong knowledge of nursing processes and patient assessment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per nursing process.
• Document findings and report changes to care team.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and care after discharge.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
