Job summary

Jackson Healthcare Government Services is seeking registered nurses to provide professional nursing care within Brooke Army Medical Center, supporting active-duty military personnel and dependents.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Graduate of a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
• Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license from any U.S. state, territory, district, or jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full scope of professional nursing duties within granted clinical privileges and scope of practice.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical, psychosocial, family, and medical histories.
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized nursing care plans.
• Provide direct patient care, including: medication administration by oral, IV, intramuscular, subcutaneous, transdermal, and rectal routes.
• Wound care and dress changes.
• Patient hygiene and mobility assistance.
• Blood product administration according to established protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
• Recognize and intervene in life-threatening situations using established emergency procedures.
• Perform diagnostic procedures including phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as authorized.
• Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, medications, discharge instructions, and health maintenance.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Supervise and delegate appropriate tasks to LVNs and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and patient safety standards.
• Operate and troubleshoot patient care equipment, including infusion pumps, monitoring systems, and other clinical devices.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
• Adapt to changing patient acuity, staffing needs, and workload demands.
• Float to other comparable patient care units as assigned and within competency level.
