Job summary

Knobelsdorff Enterprises is seeking a skilled Lineman to install and maintain overhead distribution conductors and equipment, participate in underground construction, and move large equipment. The role requires MV experience, travel across regional states, and a valid driver’s license.

You will work both independently and as part of a crew, using bucket trucks and trenching equipment, while maintaining project documentation and site layouts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Medium Voltage experience.
  • Willing to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Class A CDL preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Construct 15, 25, 35 kV poles.
  • Perform MV cable terminations: live front, load break, dead break.
  • Work knowledge of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance and Operations.
  • Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers; perform groundwork with utility line crew.
  • Meet tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Create/view site layouts from construction drawings.
  • Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in project system.
  • Collaborate effectively with team or work independently.
  • Be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Travel as required and work unpredictable hours outdoors.
  • Handle weather-exposed conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Description

Purpose: Primary responsibilities consist of but are not limited to installation and maintenance of overhead distribution conductors and equipment. Lineman will be expected to participate in underground construction, as well as performing large equipment removal or setting, including but not limited to pad mount transformer

What you will do:

  • Construction of 15, 25, 35 kV poles
  • MV Cable terminations including live front, load break and dead break
  • Must presently have a working knowledge of all phases of Distribution and Transmission Construction, Maintenance and Operating.
  • Experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers and groundwork with utility line crew required.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system.
  • Ability to create/view a site layout from construction drawings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time, out of town, and work unpredictable hours.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Medium Voltage experience.

  • Must be available to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe & competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Class A CDL Preferred.

The salary range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, which reflects a good‑faith estimate based on market data and internal equity.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time
  • Must be capable of working in inclement conditions to include extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Must be physically capable of manually digging & back‑filling holes and trenches.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
