Job summary

CMI Management LLC is seeking a skilled Medium/High Voltage Lineman to install, maintain, and repair power distribution lines at the Beltsville, MD site. The role requires Journeyman Lineman experience, a Class B CDL, and the ability to work on holidays and weekends as part of an on-call team.

You will work with heavy equipment to string wires, inspect systems, and clear faults while ensuring safety and compliance with background checks and English-language requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a medium/high voltage lineman.
• Journeyman Lineman experience.
• Class B CDL license required.
• Licenses must be submitted with resume.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies, including holidays and weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, climb poles/towers, and work in confined spaces.
• Must read/write/speak English fluently and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground medium to high voltage lines, transformers, circuit breakers and switches.
• Operate heavy machinery (bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes) to string wires and erect structures.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot electrical systems to locate faults and clear faults.
• Respond to power outages and emergencies as part of on-call schedules.
• Attach grounding devices and clear hazards near energized installations.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Job Description

The Medium/High Voltage Lineman installs, maintains, and repairs the electrical distribution and transmission lines that carry power from generation sources at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.

Key Job Functions

• Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground medium to high voltage power lines, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
• String wire conductors, set utility poles, and erect transmission towers using specialized heavy machinery (e.g., bucket trucks, digger derricks, and cranes).
• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components to identify problems, clear faulty circuits, and locate cable faults.
• Work on-call schedules and respond immediately to power outages and emergencies caused by inclement weather or equipment failure.
• Attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards and clear away tree branches or hazards near energized, live power installations.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Medium or High Voltage linesman.
• Must have Journeyman Lineman experience.
• Class B CDL.
• Must submit licenses with resume.
• Emergency response is a core part of this position, as such, the individual must be able to respond to emergency situations and be able to work on Holidays and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 lbs), climb utility poles and towers, and work in cramped, elevated, or confined spaces.
• Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to pass a government background check.
