Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Customer Technical Support and Remote Diagnostic Engineer for the North America MGT fleet, based in Orlando, FL. You will deliver technical support to external customers and collaborate with Application Engineering, Program Management, and Field Service to ensure optimal asset performance.

You will analyze operating data, provide engineered solutions, and perform remote checks as part of maintenance contracts, with approximately 5% domestic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with gas turbine operation in power generation or mechanical drive apps.
• Experience with medium gas turbine (Finspang units) preferred.
• Strong background in rotating machinery, control methods, and auxiliaries.
• Proficiency with control systems and digital literacy; experience with MGT design is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 operational service help desk support for North America MGT customers.
• Develop service-engineered solutions to meet MGT requirements.
• Monitor RNA MGT fleet via STARMS and coordinate with SalesForce for notifications and reports.
• Perform Remote Online Checks and collaborate with global teams to deliver engineered solutions.

As a Customer Technical Support and Remote Diagnostic Engineer for our medium gas turbine (MGT) fleet in North America, you will provide technical support for the region! You will interact daily with external customers, Application Engineering, Program Management, and Field Service. Your location is Orlando, Florida.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Develop Service-engineered solutions to meet product line requirements for medium gas turbine (SGT 600-800) service and outages.
• Provide 24/7 operational service help desk support for our Region North America Medium Gas Turbine (MGT) customers. Actively collaborate with the global MGT Technical Support to provide comprehensive customer solutions.
• Daily monitor RNA MGT fleet by analyzing operating data through STARMS. This monitoring will result in providing SalesForce notifications, creating quarterly customer reports, and collaborating with the Program Management group and Application engineering group to provide engineered solutions.
• Perform Remote Online Checks as part of the maintenance contract for RNA MGT units. This will encompass a detailed review of the last 3 months of operating data and collaborating with the Finspang, Sweden performance group to compile a customer report.

What You Bring

• A bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Engineering is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with gas turbine engine operation in power generation and mechanical drive applications.
• Experience with medium gas turbine (Finspang units), along with a strong background in rotating machinery, control methods, and auxiliary components is preferred.
• Proficiency in control systems (Siemens PCS7, Siemens T3000), and overall digital literacy is required, with experience in auxiliaries and package design related to MGT being desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work remotely (internally and externally) are essential, along with effective oral and written communication skills; approximately 5% domestic travel is required.

The MGT Technical Support Team comprises a multidisciplinary group of subject matter experts specializing in mechanical systems, electrical engineering, and control technologies. This team provides comprehensive operational support across the North America fleet, facilitating the execution of scheduled maintenance, responsive corrective actions, and strategic system upgrades and modifications to ensure optimal asset performance and reliability.
