Job description

Arden Courts ProMedica Memory Care Annandale is hiring a part-time Med Tech (requires Virginia Med Tech certification) with a $2,500 Sign-on Bonus.

The Medicine Aide/Technician assists with prescribed medications and treatments, as defined by state regulations, to residents and maintains related work records under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor. The role also involves acting as a Resident Caregiver, assisting residents with daily activities such as personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation, and information needs. This position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism due to frequent interactions with residents and families to ensure their satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma (Springhouse) or High School diploma or equivalent (Arden Courts/Linden Village)
  • Successful completion of Springhouse’s/Arden Courts’ training
  • Empathetic, resourceful, high self-esteem, flexible, responsive, attentive to detail, compassionate, and friendly
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to read thermometers, charts, testing equipment, and operate household appliances (Arden Courts/Linden Village)
  • Good physical and mental health (Arden Courts/Linden Village)
  • Knowledge and experience working with the elderly; previous experience with dementia preferred
  • Must be certified as required by state regulations
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry objects up to 20 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds unassisted (Arden Courts/Linden Village)
  • Full use of hands, arms, and legs for activities like washing, bathing, dressing, writing, and cleaning
