Qualifications

Job description

Arden Courts Fair Oaks (located in Fairfax) is hiring a full-time Med Tech with a $5,000 Sign-on bonus.

The Medicine Aide/Technician assists with prescribed medications and treatments, as defined by state regulations, to residents and maintains related work records under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor. The Medicine Aide/Technician also acts as a Resident Caregiver, assisting residents in all aspects of their daily life as indicated in the resident service plan, including personal care, food service, housekeeping, laundry, behavior management, socialization, activities, orientation, and information needs. This position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism due to the constant interaction with residents and families to guarantee their satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma (Springhouse); High School diploma or equivalent (Arden Courts/Linden Village). Must successfully complete the required Springhouse’s/Arden Courts’ training.
  • Skills: Basic reading and writing skills, ability to speak English, ability to read thermometers, charts, testing equipment, and operate clothes washers, dryers, and kitchen appliances (Arden Courts/Linden Village).
  • Experience: Knowledge and experience working with the elderly required; previous experience working with dementia preferred.
  • Certification: Must be certified, as required, by state regulations.

Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods; push and pull objects; lift and carry up to 20 pounds (full list of physical requirements available upon request).
