Job summary

Ginger Cove in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Medication Technician / CNA II for our Assisted Living team. We offer Full-Time and Part-Time roles across all shifts. You will administer medications, assist with activities of daily living, and document resident care under supervision of licensed nurses.

You should have Maryland CNA II and Medication Technician certifications, CPR/First Aid, and a high school diploma. Geriatric experience is preferred; weekend shifts are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Maryland Medication Technician certification and Maryland CNA II certification required.
• Two years’ experience as Medication Technician; geriatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely prepare, administer, and document medications.
• Assist residents with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility.
• Obtain and document vital signs and report changes to licensed staff.
• Maintain medication records and resident documentation.
• Follow infection control and medication safety protocols.

Schedule & Perks

• Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
• Evening Shift: 2:45 PM – 11:15 PM
• Night Shift: 10:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Alternating weekends required
• Shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends

What You'll Do

As a Medication Technician / CNA II, you'll provide compassionate, resident-centered care while safely administering medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely prepare, administer, and document medications.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents with hydration, nutrition, and overall comfort.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and restorative care programs.
• Maintain accurate medication administration records and resident documentation.
• Follow infection prevention, medication safety, and resident care protocols.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
• Participate in required in-service education and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Current certification as Medication Technician in the state of Maryland.
• Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant-II in the state of Maryland.
• Minimum two years’ experience as Medication Technician; geriatric experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time-frame.
• Must present self in a professional manner, display genuine concern for elderly and tact in dealing with others.
