Medication Technician

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe assist with administration and management of medication for our residents, while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. As a Medication Technician, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to support the health and well‑being of those in our care.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately assist with administering prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date medication records, including dosage, time of administration, and any observed reactions or side effects.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to address patient concerns and ensure optimal medication therapy management and building management.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and report any significant observations to the healthcare team promptly.
  • Assist with medication inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and disposal of expired medications and accurate med counts and med passes.
  • Provide education to residents and their families about medication regimens, potential side effects, and adherence to treatment plans.
  • Adhere to all jurisdictional and organizational policies and procedures regarding medication assist with administration and residents confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification or completion of a state‑approved Medication Technician training program is a must.
  • Current and valid Medication Technician certification, required by the state.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital, assisted living community, or long‑term care facility, is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and follow complex medication schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and ethically.
