Job summary

Bickford Senior Living in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to support residents by ensuring daily medications are administered with compassion and respect for dignity.

Responsibilities include following MAR orders, utilizing the eMAR system, and collaborating with clinical leadership. The role emphasizes leadership on shift and adherence to the Bickford Mission, with benefits for full-time and eligible part-time staff.

Qualifications

• Active Medication Technician Certification or at least 1 year of experience with seniors.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure medications are given per physician orders.
• Follow Six rights of medication administration and relevant policies.
• Utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate with clinical leadership for clarification and direction on resident medication care.
• Provide direct resident care and supervise non-licensed team members as appropriate.
• Demonstrate Bickford Mission in daily shift leadership.

The Medication Technician supports resident care within the branch, ensuring that Resident’s daily medications needs are met in a compassionate way that maintains their dignity, allowing them to live their life to the fullest!

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accurately following the resident MAR to ensure that medications are given out according to the Physician’s orders.
• Understand and follow the “Six rights of medication administration” and all of Bickford’s policies and procedures regarding medication management.
• Understand and appropriately utilize the eMAR system for medication administration.
• Communicate appropriately with clinical leadership for clarification and direction regarding resident medication administration and care.
• Providing direct resident care Supervision of resident care work of non-licensed team members and other areas of the branch as appropriate.
• You will be a leader in demonstrating the Bickford Mission ‘Whatever it Takes’ to all other team members on shift.

Qualifications

• An active Medication Technician Certification in good standing or at least one year of experience in the care of seniors.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willing to take additional training or education, which specific states may require.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
• Competent in organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to utilize or learn Bickford’s eMAR system to administer medications.
