Position Description

This position assists in the overall operation of the Unit Medication Room and distributes patients’ medications from filled prescriptions.

Major/Essential Functions

• Delivers and administers patients’ ordered and prescribed medications.
• Within the scope of the specific credential of the team member, supports clinical activities in the health facility under the direction of the facility director and nurse management.
• Actively participates in all assigned training related to the Medication Aide Program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a pharmacy technician and active registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) (or in process of registration) via passing the national certification exam.
• Prior experience in medication administration, as a medication aide, or similar.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent. Must complete the assigned training program within 30 days of hire.
