The Medication Technician

Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.50, based on experience
Shift Times: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm, 10:00 pm – 6:00 am (weekends are a must)
Location: Ivy Park at Culver City, 4061 Grand View Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90066

The Medication Technician supervises and assists in the administration of medications to residents as ordered and in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and company practices. The role also provides direct personal care, encourages resident participation in activities, and collaborates with housekeepers, maintenance staff, and other departments to support residents’ well‑being.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medications to residents.
• Coordinate medication services with residents, pharmacy, and physicians.
• Order and track medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential resident medication and care records.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co‑workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Prefer one year of experience assisting with medication at a residential care facility for the elderly (RCFE).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) is a plus.
• Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.
• Must pass a criminal background check and health screening tests, including physical and TB tests.
• Oakmont may require vaccination, daily screening, surveillance testing, and PPE use to protect team members and residents from communicable diseases.
