Job summary

Sagora Senior Living is seeking a caring Med Tech to join our Lyndale Abilene Memory Care community in Abilene, TX. You will administer and dispense medications, assist residents with daily living, and support nursing staff to ensure dignity and independence.

The ideal candidate will have six months of med-pass experience in a retirement setting, strong English communication, and the ability to multitask in a compassionate, team-focused environment. CMA certification is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Six months of work experience passing meds in a retirement community setting.
• CMA certification is a plus, but not required.
• Candidate must read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Caring, organized, and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Administer and accurately record medications as prescribed.
• Obtain, record, and report resident vital signs.
• Manage supply of medications and documentation of administration.
• Provide care for residents' personal needs and safety.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including mobility and hygiene.
• Observe and report changes in residents' condition to the nursing team.

What does a Med Tech at Sagora do?

• Administer and accurately record administration of medications as prescribed by a resident's physician(s) in accordance with company policy and applicable state and federal guidelines under supervision of a nurse


• Obtain, record, and report resident vital signs


• Manage supply of medications


• Provide accounting for all medications ordered, received, stored, and administered


• Care for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of our residents


• Assist residents with activities of daily living including wardrobe, personal hygiene, and mobility


• Aid in daily tasks such as housekeeping, use of telephone, laundry, transportation, and mail delivery


• Observe and report changes in residents' condition and status


• Conduct rounds to monitor for hazards or incidents


• Assist in dining including escorting residents to dining room, serving, and clean up

What do you need to be a Med Tech?

• Six months of work experience passing meds in a retirement community setting is preferred


• CMA certification is a plus, but not required


• Candidate must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, guests, and other associates in English


• The ideal candidate will be caring, organized, and able to multi-task
