Job summary

Qualifications

• Quality Improvement and Risk Management responsibilities
• Data collection, analysis and review of medication safety events
• Root-cause analysis of significant medication errors
• Adherence to published best practices and guidelines for medication-use safety
• Participation in hospital committees including co-chair of Medication Safety Subcommittee
• Liaison to pharmacy leadership on medication safety matters
• Understand accreditation standards and federal/state regulations related to medication use

Responsibilities

• Coordinate proactive processes to evaluate and improve safe medication management
• Manage data collection and analysis of medication safety events
• Facilitate root-cause analyses of errors and system failure factors
• Identify opportunities for proactive changes in the medication-use system
• Assist in quality improvement initiatives across the medical center and pharmacy
• Support education and training of staff on safety practices
