Job summary

MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, ME is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will interview patients to obtain an accurate medication history, verify information with outside resources, and document history in the system for clinical follow-up.

You will also refill and maintain automated dispensing systems, prepare compounds within scope, handle orders, manage inventory, and participate in quality assurance rounds to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current State of Maine Pharmacy Tech license required.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (CPhT) required.
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience in a hospital setting and/or retail setting, strongly preferred.
• Extensive customer service experience.
• Excellent and demonstrated communication skills.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients/caregivers to obtain an accurate medication history and verify with outside resources.
• Document medication history in the system and communicate history with practitioners.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare compounds within scope of practice.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy and other service departments.
• Perform quality assurance rounds to ensure regulatory compliance.
