Job summary

Vitruvian Health in Tennessee is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the Emergency Department. Under the pharmacy director, you will collect accurate medication histories from patients, caregivers, and external sources, and document them in the electronic records.

You will work on a hospital/retail pharmacy team, require a Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy license, and one to two years of relevant experience. Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy is required; certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years as hospital or retail pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medication histories for new ED patients from patient, caregiver, retail pharmacy, or physician office.
• Enter medication histories into the electronic patient database or update existing records.
• Communicate completed medication history to the pharmacist on duty.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the pharmacy director, obtains medication histories for new patients coming through the Emergency Department. Medication history information will be obtained from several sources, including the patient directly or the patient's caregiver, retail pharmacy, or physician office. Technician enters medication history into the electronic patient database or updates database if information already exists. Communicates completion of medication history to pharmacist on duty.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Licensure: Registered as a Pharmacy Technician by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy required. Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a hospital or retail pharmacy technician.
