Job summary

Platinum Communities is seeking a Medication Technician to administer medications, support resident care, and maintain a clean and safe environment. You will review ISPs, report changes in condition, and mentor new staff while ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.

The role supports various departments and requires strong communication and reliability. Responsibilities include ADL assistance, documentation, and collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of CBRF medication administration training and required CBRF core trainings.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Previous caregiving experience in a CBRF or RCAC setting preferred.
  • Flexible and available to work beyond regularly scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications in accordance with the Six Rights of Medication Administration (resident, drug, dose, route, time, documentation).
  • Ensure medications are given as prescribed and documented per guidelines and regulations.
  • Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and report changes.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
  • Properly store, secure, and dispose of medications per regulations.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and ambulation.
  • Review Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) prior to care responsibilities.
  • Mentor and train new caregiving staff during onboarding.
