Job summary

Missouri Slope seeks compassionate Nursing Assistants in Bismarck, ND. Both Full-Time and Part-Time positions are available for Medication Assistants (MAII) and CNAs. Day and PM shifts run 2:15 pm–10:45 pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

A minimum of 8 hours per pay period is guaranteed, with additional hours as needed. Base pay ranges from $24.25 to $27.50 per hour. A $10,000 sign-on bonus and a $3.00 per hour PM shift differential are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current North Dakota CNA certification
• Current MAII certification from North Dakota
• Pass drug test and background check
• Complete required Missouri Slope training
• Annual influenza vaccination required or approved accommodation

Responsibilities

• Administer medications as prescribed and document per MAR
• Provide direct resident care and ensure safety policies are followed
• Maintain accurate medication records and reports to charge nurse
• Assist with transfers using lifts and manual techniques as needed
• Support activity participation and transport residents as required
• Keep resident rooms prepared and respect resident rights and confidentiality

A minimum of 8 hours per pay period as a Medication Assistant or as needed. Other guaranteed hours may be scheduled as a CNA.

DUTIES:

• Administer medications that are oral, topical, nasal, rectal, metered dose inhalers, or those instilled within the eye or ear or through a g-tube
• Responsible for passing of scheduled medications that are administered on a routine basis and do not require drug calculations, dosage conversion, determination of need, or assessment of resident
• Responsible for documentation and accounting of all drugs
• Responsible to make certain all medications are administered and documented as stated on Medication Administration Record, utilizing the electronic medical record system
• Administers direct personal care to residents
• Responsible to provide a safe environment for residents and co-workers by following all established safety policies and procedures
• Responsible for using mechanical lifts and/or manually assisting resident transfers using forces up to 60 pounds frequently
• Responsible for transportation of residents requiring the physical act of pushing and/or pulling a variety of types of chairs up to 30 lbs. on a frequent basis
• Encourages the residents’ participation in the activity program and assists with transporting as needed
• Will make and change linen on residents’ beds according to the established procedure or according to the wishes of the resident
• Must respect and uphold resident rights in all regards including confidentiality of resident information
• Maintains vigil and care for dying residents and assist the resident and their family in coping with the dying process and death
• Keeps written notes and record pertinent resident information on the resident’s permanent record and report to the charge nurse
• Demonstrates Missouri Slope’s customer service standards of excellence

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Current CNA certification from North Dakota
• Current Medication Assistant II (MAII) certification from North Dakota
• Successfully pass a drug test, background check, including criminal history, certification registries, and employment history
• Completion of training as required by Missouri Slope
• Employees at Missouri Slope are required to receive the annual influenza vaccination as a condition of employment.
