Job summary

White Birch Communities in Virginia's Rockingham location is seeking a dedicated Day shift Medication Aide (RMA) to join our care team. The RMA will administer medications and provide nursing care, assisting residents with daily activities such as bathing, eating, and toileting.

The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, punctual, and enjoys helping others. Compliance with licensing requirements and the ability to lift 75 pounds are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Medication Aide license.
• CNA license or DCA certification.
• Previous health care experience with acceptable references preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide hygiene and daily living assistance; help with bathing, toileting and showers.
• Support patients with meals and assist with ambulation, turning and position changes.
• Instill confidence and trust through competent, caring patient interactions.

White Birch Communities is looking for one day shift Medication Aide (RMA) to join our team at our Rockingham location. The RMA will not only administer medication to residents, but also provide nursing care to patients and assist them in daily activities such as bathing, eating, and toileting.

The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, punctual, and enjoys helping others. This person must be reliable, empathetic, and be able to work with all types of people.

Responsibilities:

• Patient care – Instill confidence and trust in patients in a competent and caring manner. Provide hygiene and daily living assistance. This could include toileting, bathing, and assisting patients with showers. Support the patient with meals as needed. Ambulate, turn, and position patients as required.
• Medical needs – Check vital signs and weight. Perform sugar tests and specimen collection.
• Professional development – Maintain any specialized training and, if applicable, perform additional and specialized tasks pertinent to the assigned patient or area.

Requirements:

• Registered Medication Aide license
• CNA license or DCA certification
• Previous hospital, assisted living or other related health care experience with acceptable references preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds at times
