Job summary

CareRite Centers, LLC is seeking a Medication Aide-Certified (MA-C) to assist with routine medication administration under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role supports resident comfort and safety while following state and federal guidelines and facility policies.

The MA-C will document medication administration, monitor for side effects, and communicate effectively with residents and the healthcare team during daily rounds and routines.

Qualifications

  • MA-C certification is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal.
  • Basic computer skills for resident records and charting.

Responsibilities

  • Administers medications as ordered by a physician under nurse supervision and facility policy.
  • Performs tasks to ensure resident safety, comfort and well‑being.
  • Maintains the five rights of medication administration and records doses in charts.
  • Observes and reports adverse reactions or side effects to a licensed nurse.
  • Records medication administration using the computer system as needed.
  • Responds to resident call lights and monitors needs during the shift.
  • Notifies licensed staff of changes in condition or pain and documents events.

Medication Aide-Certified
Job responsibilities

The role of the Medication Aide-Certified, (MA-C) under the direction of the Licensed Nurse, is providing routine daily medication, either prescription or non-prescription, to residents whose condition and drug regimen are stable. This individual must perform these tasks as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, and in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations. Also, may perform routine daily tasks required in maintaining the health, comfort and well-being of the residents.

Essential Functions
  1. Performs resident care responsibilities in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort consistent with (insert facility name) Clinical Policies and Procedures as well as state/federal guidelines and regulations.
  2. Respects residents rights
  3. Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.
  4. Must demonstrate knowledge of “five rights” of medication administration. Administers and records all medication given to residents' based upon their specific chart.
  5. Observes that medication is ingested, does not leave medication at the bedside
  6. Notifies appropriate licensed staff when a resident complains of pain.
  7. May take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications.
  8. Records the administration of medications appropriately, utilizing the computer system to enter and reference resident information as needed.
  9. Answers resident call lights, anticipates resident's needs and makes rounds to assigned resident under the supervision of a licensed nurse or charge nurse on the shift.
  10. Observes for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
  11. Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  12. Administers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.
  13. Reports and when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents.
Job Requirements
  • Certified Medication Aide (MA-C) Requirements:
  • MA-C Certification
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.Basic computer knowledge.
