Job summary

Avir at French Home in San Antonio, TX is seeking a compassionate Medication Aide to assist with medication administration and resident care. You will work under the supervision of licensed nurses to support safety and quality of life for residents.

Ideal candidates have a certified Medication Aide training, a high school diploma, and at least 6 months of healthcare experience. Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential for accurate record-keeping in EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a certified Medication Aide training program.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care facility.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents as needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administration of medications as ordered by physicians, under the supervision of licensed nurses
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation
• Provide basic care and hygiene to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Assist with daily living activities, such as toileting, feeding, and ambulating
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and resident care
• Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Respond to emergency situations and apply basic life support techniques as needed
