Job summary

Clarendale Clayton is recruiting for a Medication Aide. Under the direct supervision of a nurse, you assist licensed staff with routine care and daily living activities, including passing medications and monitoring residents.

This full-time overnight position from 11pm to 7:30am offers benefits and training; L1Ma certification is required, prior senior living aide experience preferred, and in-house training is provided to maintain employment.

Qualifications

• Prior senior living nursing aide experience is preferred.
• L1Ma certification required.
• Successful completion of our in-house training is required to maintain employment.
• Must be reliable and dependable with attendance.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and communication.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given.

Responsibilities

• Passing medications.
• Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting and exercising.
• Gives treatments, performs tests, carry‑out procedures and collects specimens as instructed.
• Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
• Transfers, transports, and escorts residents as needed.
• Answers signal lights promptly.
• Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly.
• Safely prepares, administers, and charts oral, topical, and suppository drugs.
• Checks and prepares each dose immediately preceding administration.
• Completes montly online trainings.
