Job summary

Milestone is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide/Tech to provide medication management and support ADLs for residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. You will follow each resident’s service plan, pass medications per physician orders, and document daily tasks to ensure safety and well-being.

You will communicate with medical professionals and families, participate in meal service, supervise staff during shifts, maintain certifications, and contribute to regulatory compliance while upholding

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of caregiving experience.
• At least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field.
• Ability to read physician orders and match to MARs.
• Understanding of medical terminology to administer medications.
• TB clearance and health requirements.
• First Aid certification required.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Able to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Follow resident service plans and pass medications per physician orders.
• Document completion of daily tasks and changes in residents’ conditions.
• Communicate resident needs with other Medication Aides for consistent care.
• Participate in meal service including serving, clearing, and cleaning.
• Manage staff supervision during shifts.
• Maintain required certifications and attend ongoing training.
• Comply with CQI program and report issues to supervisor.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen guidelines.
• Report elder maltreatment to appropriate directors or state.
• Ensure a safe work environment and support teamwork.

Overview

We’re seeking a Medication Aide/Tech to provide medication management and support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for residents in Assisted Living and Memory Care. In this role, you’ll deliver care in accordance with resident service plans, communicate with medical professionals and families, and ensure residents’ safety and well-being while supporting regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Follow each resident’s service plan in a friendly and supportive manner, including passing medications per physician orders and Medication Administration Records
• Document completion of daily tasks and observed changes in residents’ conditions
• Communicate resident needs with other Medication Aides to ensure consistent care
• Participate in meal service, including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room
• Manage staff under your supervision during working hours
• Maintain required certifications and attend ongoing training and in-service programs
• Comply with the Continuous Quality Improvement program and report issues to your supervisor
• Follow all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Blood Borne Pathogen Guidelines
• Report suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State
• Work safely and foster a safe work environment for all employees
• Support teamwork, take initiative, and maintain a positive impact on residents, visitors, and coworkers
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year of experience in a caregiving role or similar function
• At least six months of supervisory experience in a health-related field
• Ability to read physician orders and match them to Medication Administration Records
• Understanding of medical terminology adequate to administer medications and communicate with medical professionals
• Certifications as required by state
• Must be 18 years or older and meet all health requirements, including TB clearance
• First Aid certification required
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure, resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and follow through with ideas
