Responsibilities

• Monitors prior authorization work queues and verifies patient insurance eligibility.
• Obtains prior authorizations from insurers via online, fax, and phone.
• Communicates updates to patients and providers throughout the process.
• Provides required clinical information to insurers as needed.
• Collaborates with practice operations when peer-to-peer or alternatives are required.
• Escalates complex issues to the Supervisor, Medication Prior Authorization.
• Maintains familiarity with the EMR and insurance websites.
