Job summary
CVS Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support Medicaid/Medicare pharmacy services, handling intake and processing of approval requests. You will evaluate prescriptions, communicate decisions to physicians and staff, and perform research to support clinical justifications.
Role requires National Certification and state license, proficiency with pharmacy software, and strong confidentiality practices.
Qualifications
- National Pharmacy Technician certification and Home State License in good standing.
- Proficiency in computerized pharmacy systems and software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Windows-based software applications.
- Uses proprietary systems to build, research, process and enter requests.
- Protects confidentiality of member information per policy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates Medicaid and/or Medicare pharmacy services including intake and processing of requests.
- Evaluates, authorizes approval and communicates decisions per guidelines.
- Determines appropriateness for medications and informs physicians and staff.
- Performs clinical and non-medical research to support requests.
- Maintains accurate documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
- Escalates complex requests to Pharmacist when needed.
