Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare Medicare and/or Medicaid cost reports for ambulance providers.
• Reconcile expenditures, fixed assets, and other provider documentation as needed.
• Provide general ledger and accounting assistance to financial staff.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and procedures.
• Recommend accounting process improvements.
• Assist with the Medicare and/or Medicaid cost report audit support and documentation.
• Responsibilities may change as the department and PCG grow and as deemed necessary by management.

• Ability to analyze account fluctuations and year-to-year variances.
• Ability to identify unusual or questionable items and how to correct them going forward.
• Implement corrective actions and procedures.
• Ensure reporting is consistent with GAAP policy.
• Effective ability to prioritize and manage multiple activity streams.
• Must have the ability to manage task load.
• Must maintain attention to detail at all times.
• Excellent organizational skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
• Experience with GAAP principles
• Experience with project accounting.
• Experience with Medicare or Medicaid cost reporting/audits preferred
• Experience with Medicare regulations and reimbursement manual
• Experience with applicable Federal and State Medicaid policies and regulations relating to healthcare reimbursement
• Minimum 2 years experience in accounting/auditing required
  
  

Range: $52,300-$87,800

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role below. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
