The role focuses on Medicare and payer billing, requires continuing education on CMS changes, and entails filing claims, following up, and reconciling accounts. This is a full-time benefited position after a 60-day waiting period.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology knowledge for billing purpose.
• Continuing education to stay updated on CMS changes.
• Experience with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and Medicare rules.
• Ability to learn hospital computer systems and programs.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Submit Medicare claims and follow up for payment.
• File secondary and supplementary claims as needed.
• Complete daily billing tasks with minimal write-offs.
• Monitor and maintain assigned accounts and AR delinquencies.
• Research and resubmit rejected/denied claims timely.
• Prepare appeals for denied claims.
• Update notes on calls and account activity as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of hospital information.
