Job summary

The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. is seeking an experienced Medicare Billing & Claims Submission Specialist in Branford, CT. You will handle Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims with accuracy, ensuring CMS compliance and timely reimbursement.

You will verify insurance, process NOEs/NOTRs, post payments, and resolve denials while collaborating with clinical and finance teams to support the hospice revenue cycle.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of medical billing and claims processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare billing regulations and CMS guidelines.
• Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurers.
• Proficiency in charge entry, payment posting, and AR follow-up.
• Experience resolving claim denials and managing appeals.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims accurately and timely.
• Ensure CMS regulations and payer-specific billing requirements are met.
• Manage claim submissions, corrections, resubmissions, and appeals.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Post insurance and patient payments and adjustments accurately.
• Reconcile accounts receivable balances and follow up on unpaid claims.
