Job summary

Zing Health, Inc. is seeking a Medicare Actuary to join our growing actuarial team.

This high-visibility individual contributor role offers ownership of key actuarial and financial processes, with primary responsibility for Medicare Part D modeling and monthly close activities. Reporting to the Director of Actuarial Services, you will combine strong technical skills with business acumen and communication to influence leadership.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years actuarial experience in healthcare, Medicare Advantage required.
  • Near-ASA with ASA strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting monthly close, reserving, forecasting, and Part D modeling.
  • Advanced Excel and Office Suite proficiency.
  • SQL experience and healthcare data manipulation.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Medicare Part D financial models, settlements, forecasting, and experience monitoring.
  • Own actuarial components of the monthly close, including IBNR evaluation.
  • Contribute to development and submission of Medicare Advantage bids.
  • Build models and analyze large datasets to support forecasting and decision-making.
  • Identify process improvements and automate workflows.
  • Present findings to senior leadership and mentor junior team members.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated Medicare Actuary to join our growing actuarial team. This is a highly visible individual contributor role that offers significant ownership, responsibility, and exposure across the organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Actuarial Services, the Medicare Actuary will lead key actuarial and financial processes, with primary ownership of Medicare Part D modeling and monthly close activities.

This role is ideal for an experienced actuarial professional with Medicare Advantage expertise who is looking to take the next step in their career by owning critical processes, partnering directly with senior leaders, and developing the leadership skills necessary for future advancement. The successful candidate will combine strong technical actuarial skills with business acumen, independent problem‑solving capabilities, and effective communication and presentation skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of Medicare Part D financial models, including settlements, forecasting, and experience monitoring.
  • Own actuarial components of the monthly close process, including evaluation of IBNR reserves.
  • Contribute to the development and submission of Medicare Advantage bids.
  • Build actuarial models and perform complex data analysis using large healthcare datasets to support forecasting, reserving, and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, automate workflows, and enhance analytical capabilities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Medicare Advantage and Part D‑related financial analyses. Present findings, recommendations, and actuarial concepts to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  • Mentor and support junior actuarial team members through technical guidance and knowledge sharing, while not having direct people management responsibilities.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of actuarial experience in a healthcare environment. Medicare Advantage experience required, including Part D experience.
  • Near-ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) with ASA strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting monthly close processes, reserving, forecasting, and Part D settlement modeling.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with SQL and healthcare data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and critical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively present financial and actuarial concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Python, R, and/or SAS.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Advantage bid development, and risk adjustment.
  • Experience creating executive‑level presentations and communicating insights to senior leadership.
  • Ability to leverage AI for coding and research.
