Job summary

Phoebe Putney Health System is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the hospital laboratory team. The role requires 2-year or higher credentials in Medical Technology and CLIA qualifications. ASCP, AMT, NCA, AAB certifications are preferred.

The schedule follows a 7 days on/7 days off cycle with night and day shifts as noted. The candidate will perform tests, ensure accurate results, adhere to established procedures, and participate in quality control and documentation to support patient care

Qualifications

• OR meet CLIA minimum qualifications for high complexity testing personnel. (Required)
• 4 year / Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to the department in accurate and timely results of tests.
• Produces accurate and timely results according to established procedures
• Works independently with little or no supervision.
• Uses sound clinical judgment when evaluating laboratory results.
• Documents work performed and recognize abnormal and critical results.
• Maintains all laboratory equipment properly as evidenced by proper documentation.
• Monitors the quality assurance system, including quality control.

• 0 - 1 year Ability to perform in one or more laboratory departments as a clinical laboratory scientist. (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

• Required Certifications/Licensures:
• Certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA, AAB, or other agency approved by the hiring department

Essential Functions

• MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST JOB DUTIES:
