Description

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Lab Hartford CT $8,000 sign-on bonus

You will be responsible for performing and reporting a wide range of routine and complex analyses in all sections of the clinical laboratory to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment. Develop and conduct research into new technologies, write and update procedures as needed. Oversee processes and teach other personnel. Provide teaching and education to lab students and staff.

What You Will Do

  • Determine normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
  • Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment inventories.

Position Hours

  • 40 hours, Day Shifts, rotating weekends/holidays

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from an accredited college/university and successful completion of NAACLS accredited MT program or MLT, or CLA certification program.
  • Experience in microbiology.
  • Registration: MT-ASCP or CLA (NCA) certification, or eligibility to take the exam and achieve certification within the first year.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, technical competence, adaptability, good command of English and medical terminology.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
