Job Summary

Performs laboratory analysis on specimens, providing clinical information for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Ensures quality, efficiency, and safety in technical duties.

Essential Functions
  • Follows testing procedures and quality assurance guidelines, documenting any non-conformities.
  • Prepares reagents, manages supplies, and reduces departmental waste.
  • Uses clinical judgment to prioritize and troubleshoot testing issues, consulting specialists or services as needed.
  • Reviews and revises procedures to meet accreditation and regulatory standards (CAP, TJC, OSHA).
  • Maintains clear communication with team members and leadership about issues affecting patient care or operations.
  • Participates in planning, staff meetings, and projects.
  • Engages in competency assessments where applicable.
Physical Requirements

Works in a fast-paced environment with potential biohazards, chemicals, and hazards. Duties include standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree required; MT, MLS, or equivalent registry eligibility. Certification (MT or MLS, ASCP) required within one year of hire.
