HCA Healthcare’s UCF Lake Nona Hospital in Orlando is seeking a Medical Technologist for PRN day shifts. You will perform accurate and timely laboratory testing, manage documentation, and support the department in the supervisor’s absence.

Minimum education is an associate degree with Florida licensure; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. The role emphasizes quality control, timely stat testing, and precise result interpretation, with opportunities for professional growth within a major health

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• License in Florida required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Experience as Medical Technologist preferred (1 year).

Responsabilités

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing per instructions and within time frames.
• Take department responsibility in the absence of supervisor.
• Complete records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Use sound judgment in interpretation of results and delta checks.
• Review pending logs and communicate workload to relief staff.
• Perform quality control per protocol and handle all specimens/tests.

What you will do in this role:

• Performaccurateandtimelylaboratory testing by analyzingproficiencytesting samples according to instructions and complete within the allowabletime frame
• Assume responsibility of the department asappropriate inthe absence of the supervisor
• Complete all required records/documentationpertaining topatient results
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
• Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results. (Including performing delta checks, etc.)
• Review pending logs (OSR) and result logs; resolve any outstanding workload or communicate to staff relief
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results

What Qualifications you will need:

• A 2 Year/Associate Degreeisrequired
• A 4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Medical Technologyis preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist preferred
• A State of Florida Technologist License isrequiredOR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
• Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas: (Generalist highlypreferred)-Blood BankBank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology
