Job summary

Valley View Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to join per diem/PRN shifts in the Fort Mohave, AZ area. The role involves performing diagnostic testing on patient samples, following standardized procedures, and ensuring specimen integrity for accurate physician diagnoses.

The position requires an associate's degree in science, with a Bachelor's degree preferred and licensure with ASCP or AMT preferred. Experience with automated analyzers and QA procedures is desirable.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in science required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• ASCP or AMT licensure preferred where education aligns with requirements.
• Experience with diagnostic testing and quality assurance in a clinical lab is valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states.
• Follow standardized procedures and prepare patient samples for testing.
• Collect and analyze bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples for transfusions.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
• Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits; report and document findings.
• Perform automated testing using computerized instruments and equipment.
• Conduct quality assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and results.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
