Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related Science with approved training.
• Active Florida license as Medical Technologist with specialties: Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Microbiology, Molecular Pathology; registry with ASCP/AMT/AAB preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and reproducible results of routine and complex manual and automated testing.
• Perform and document quality control, evaluate values, and maintain logs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Notify ordering physician of results with complete, legible documentation in worksheets and LIS.
• Operate LIS and related computer programs; stay current with system upgrades.
• Participate in proficiency testing and other QA programs.
• Ensure specimen integrity and recognize events that may compromise testing.
