Salary Range: $44.71 - $44.71 Hourly

Job Overview:

Responsible for performing and providing compatibility tests for patients’ blood transfusion needs as per the established standard operating procedure. Effectively manage and utilize the blood and blood product inventory. Assistance with the preparation and collection of quality control/assurance data reports & performance of quality audits as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
  • Two to three years’ clinical lab experience.

Preferred:

  • ASCP or equivalent certification preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Per Diem
  • Hours/Days Variable

Essential Functions:

  • The incumbent in this position will provide the services meeting the goals of the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
  • Responsible for performing and providing compatibility tests for patients’ blood transfusion needs as per the established standard operating procedure. Effectively manage and utilize the blood and blood product inventory. Assistance with the preparation and collection of quality control/assurance data reports & performance of quality audits as assigned.
  • Clinical laboratory personnel, as members of the health care delivery team, are responsible for assuring reliable and accurate laboratory test results which contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention of physiological and pathological conditions in humans. Quality clinical laboratory testing is evidenced by: performing the correct test, on the right person, at the right time, producing accurate test results, with the best outcome, in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Exhibits effective patient and customer service skills with adherence to core values and mission of hospital.
