Qualifications

• Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Masters' degree in medical laboratory technology, clinical laboratory science, chemistry, or biology
• BLS certification (available through Hillsdale Hospital)

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative tests on specimens (blood, urine, and other body fluids) using analyzers or manual methods
• Ensure regulatory compliance for accreditation
• Establish written policies and procedures for QA, patient test management, quality control
• Assess accuracy and validity of test results and identify critical changes for patient care
• Troubleshoot instruments and document corrective actions

Description

Work Schedule and Shift Premiums

Full Time | Four 10-hour days per week

Mid-Shift | 1:30 pm to midnight

2nd shift premium is $2.00/hour; 3rd shift premium is $3.05/hour; weekend premium is an additional $1.00/hour

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative tests and examinations using various analyzer and/or manual methods on specimen sources such as blood, urine, and other body fluids
• Responsible for all regulatory compliance issues necessary for accreditation
• Establish written policies and procedures for a comprehensive quality assurance program, patient test management, quality control, test procedure and policy manuals
• Assess accuracy and validity of obtained test results by applying knowledge of relevant scientific principles, recognize changes that are critical to patient care, identify probable causes for irregular and atypical findings
• Troubleshoot instruments and resolves technical problems, documenting corrective action and initiating remedial action
