Job summary

Fairfield Medical Center in Ohio is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform and interpret a wide range of laboratory tests across chemistry, microbiology, immunology, hematology, and immunohematology.

The role includes instrument calibration and QC, documentation, training of staff, and collaboration on new techniques. ASCP certification is required; an associate degree in medical laboratory science or related field is required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related sciences is required.
• ASCP certification is required.
• Experience with ASCP certification process is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and interprets standard, complex and specialized laboratory tests.
• Evaluates test results and follows up with appropriate action.
• Performs instrument calibrations, maintenance, QC and troubleshooting procedures.
• Completes all internal and external documentation per policies and procedures.
• Provides administrative and technical consulting on laboratory testing.
• Assists in training laboratory personnel and other healthcare professionals.
• Participates in evaluating new techniques and procedures in the laboratory.
