***This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located onsite in either the southeast, southwest, or central United States. Travel will likely be required.***

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Performs complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, and bacteriological tests.
  2. Examines and analyzes body fluids and cells and matches blood for transfusions.
  3. Must be familiar with the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) requirements for maintaining blood products for transfusion.
  4. Analyzes chemical content of fluids and tests for drug levels in the blood.
  5. Prepares specimens, counts cells, and looks for abnormal cells in blood and body fluids.
  6. Analyzes test results and relays them to physicians.
  7. Makes cultures of body fluid and tissue samples to determine the presence of bacteria, fungi, parasites, or other microorganisms.
  8. Analyzes samples for chemical content or reactions and determines concentrations of compounds such as blood glucose and cholesterol levels.
  9. Evaluates test results, develops and modifies procedures, and establishes and monitors programs to ensure test accuracy.
  10. Uses universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials, including blood-borne pathogens.
  11. Orders and stocks supplies as needed and maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  12. In addition to preparing patients and operating equipment, radiologic technologists and technicians keep patient records and adjust and maintain equipment. They may also prepare work schedules, evaluate equipment purchases, or manage a radiology department.
  13. Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must have completed a formal Medical Technology training program leading to a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Must be certified by AMT, ASCP, or NCA.
  • Must hold and maintain current BLS certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Medical Technologist is required.
  • All healthcare providers must have recent clinical experience in direct patient care, with at least 6 months in the last 12 months in the desired field.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computer and office equipment, including MS Office, is required.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements, including potential shift changes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to research and resolve inquiries promptly.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office environment.
  • Involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
