Job summary

Lifepoint Health® in Warrenton, VA is seeking a Medical Technologist for full-time night shift. This role performs diagnostic testing on patient samples, follows standardized procedures, and operates lab equipment to support physicians in diagnosing and monitoring diseases.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Science and MT licensure is preferred (ASCP/AMT). The position offers a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science is required or expected.
• Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states.
• Follows standardized procedures and prepares patient samples for testing.
• Collects and analyzes bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples for transfusions.
• Operates laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
• Analyzes test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits; reports and documents findings according to organizational standards.
• Performs automated testing using computerized instruments and equipment.
• Conducts Quality Assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and results.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
