Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a Medical Technologist to provide timely and accurate lab results in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, MT certification, and at least 2 years of clinical microbiology experience, with Sundays availability 06:00–14:30, and a PRN work shift. The hospital offers a Magnet designation and a long-standing history of service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Certification/registration as Medical Technologist; current as required by ASCP/AMT.
• Minimum 2 years in clinical microbiology lab reading and reporting cultures.
• Equivalency statement for education from outside the United States if applicable.
• Must be certified/registered or eligible as Medical Technologist.

Job Description

Your Job: In this highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients by providing timely and accurate lab results.

Your Job Requirements

• Candidate must be available a minimum of 2 Sundays per month to work reading culture plates from 06:00-14:30.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university of Medical Technology or related area of specialty
• Highly prefer minimum 2 years working in a clinical microbiology laboratory reading and reporting cultures from the following sites (this list is not exhaustive ): blood, urine, other sterile body fluids, wounds, tissues, other non-sterile body sites, stool, upper respiratory, lower respiratory, other respiratory, any other source or site not listed here.
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• Or for individuals educated outside the United States, a translation of that education (equivalency statement obtained from a business dedicated to this service) that shows equivalence to above requirements.
• Certification/registration or certification/registry eligible as a Medical Technologist is required
• ASCP certifications received after January 2004 and AMT certifications received after January 2006 must be kept current through continuing education as required by the specific associations
• Certified MT work experience
