Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to read and report microbiology cultures in a fast-paced lab. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver accurate results and support patient care.

The role requires a 6:00–14:30 shift and availability for at least two Sundays per month, with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology and ASCP/AMT certification or eligibility. Join a Magnet-designated hospital with a long history of service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in clinical microbiology reading and reporting cultures.
• ASCP or AMT certification or eligibility and ongoing CE requirements.

In this highly technical, fast-paced, and challenging position, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients by providing timely and accurate lab results.

Your Job Requirements

• _ Candidate must be available a minimum of 2 Sundays per month to work reading culture plates from 06:00-14:30. _
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university of Medical Technology or related area of specialty
• _ Highly prefer m _ inimum 2 years working in a clinical microbiology laboratory reading and reporting cultures _ from the following sites (this list is not exhaustive ): blood, urine, other sterile body fluids, wounds, tissues, other non-sterile body sites, stool, upper respiratory, lower respiratory, other respiratory, any other source or site not listed here.
• Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
• Or for individuals educated outside the United States, a translation of that education (equivalency statement obtained from a business dedicated to this service) that shows equivalence to above requirements.
• Certification/registration or certification/registry eligible as a Medical Technologist is required
• ASCP certifications received after January 2004 and AMT certifications received after January 2006 must be kept current through continuing education as required by the specific associations
• Certified MT work experience
