Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL is seeking a Medical Technologist for the afternoons/second shift. The role includes high- and moderate-complexity testing (cultures, Gram & AFB stains) and limited molecular/immunology work.

You will handle instrument maintenance, QC, and proficiency testing while teaching students and new staff. The ideal candidate holds a CLS-related degree and MLS/MLT(ASCP) certification, with a strong focus on teamwork, safety, and professionalism in a busy

Qualifications

Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork and effective communication at all times.
MLS/MLT(ASCP) certification required or MLS/MT equivalent.
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in CLS/MT/MLS field.

Responsibilities

Performs moderate and high complexity testing including cultures, Gram Stain and AFB reading/reporting.
Performs instrument maintenance, quality control, proficiency testing and patient testing.
Identifies problems with test performance and troubleshoots.
Participates in teaching students and new employees.
Maintains a safe work environment with required PPE.
