Job summary

Northside Hospital in the Atlanta area is seeking a Medical Technologist III to provide technical and regulatory oversight of laboratory sections and perform the duties of a Medical Technologist II.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Associate degree with MT certification, plus two years’ clinical lab experience and the ability to implement procedures according to standards. Night shift hours are 8PM-6:30AM with weekend work required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology and eligibility for certification.
• Associates Degree in laboratory science or MT certification.
• Graduate of a Military Program in Science with MT certification.
• Grandfathered MT with MT certification and current MT credentials.
• Two years’ experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures per standards.
• Must pass color-acuity screening test.

Responsibilities

The Medical Technologist III has responsibility for technical and regulatory over sight of one or more laboratory sections and performs the duties of a Medical Technologist II.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

• Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist.
  • Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)
• Two (2) years’ experience in a clinical laboratory
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
• Must submit to a color-acuity screening test prior.

PREFERRED

• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

8PM-6:30AM
