Job summary

Coffee Memorial Blood Center Inc in Tulsa, OK seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist to provide compatibility testing and consultation for complex serological problems. You will perform ABO/Rh testing, antibody identification, crossmatch, titration, and report generation, with evenings hours 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

and on-call coverage as needed. The role requires a BS in MT/MLS with ASCP preferred, strong communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree with completion of a Medical Technology/MLS training program.
• ASCP registration preferred.
• Ability to resolve complex serological problems independently.
• Provide clear and concise consultation to other medical technologists and physicians.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control, calibration, maintenance and verification procedures for laboratory equipment.
• Receive hospital orders.
• Coordinate specimen pick-ups and product delivery with lab couriers or Storage and Distribution.
• Review patients' medical and transfusion history and correlate with laboratory investigations.
• Perform ABO, Rh, antibody detection and compatibility testing procedures for transfusion service clients.
• Perform antibody identification for transfusion service clients and member hospital clients.
• Fill orders for antigen negative requests.
• Perform RBC crossmatch and select antigen negative units as needed.
• Perform antibody titration procedures.
• Perform complex antibody identifications using various testing platforms and reagents.
• Prepare consultation reports.
• Takes call as needed for laboratory coverage.
• Clean and maintain work areas.

Job description

Location: Tulsa, OK

Pay: Competitive pay based on education and/or experience with shift differential and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!
