Job description

Job Title: Medical Technologist Lead - Microbiology Laboratory - AM (169) (T228109)

Description: Perform, interpret, check accuracy, and report results on routine and complex laboratory procedures on body tissues, fluids, and other substances according to laboratory procedure manuals. Evaluate new instruments and/or methods, ensure correct reagent preparation and quality control, lead troubleshooting efforts, and monitor equipment performance. May perform apheresis, bone marrows, or coordinate education, computer operations, quality control/quality assurance duties, and assume supervisory functions within a section as requested.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory or a related field and one (1) year of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education. Must be currently credentialed as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) OR certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Depending on the unit or department, or if working directly with patients, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
