Job summary

Qualifications

Must have degree from an accredited college and completion of an accredited Medical Technology Program.
Current registration or eligibility for registration as Medical Technologist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
Two years of phlebotomy and skin puncture experience with patients from neonate to geriatric and analytical specimen processing in a hospital clinical lab.
Experience in a chemical lab or familiarity with analytical chemistry is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Draws blood, stores test samples, and reports results to the ordering physician.
Prepare samples for analysis.
Monitor procedures and tests in the lab using equipment to detect microorganisms in samples.
Analyze the chemical content of samples, matching blood for transfusions and screening incoming patients.
Clean and maintain the laboratory.
