Job summary

Atrius Health, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Medical Technologist II in Needham, MA. The role supports a 40-hour schedule from 3:30pm to 12:00am in the Laboratory department. You will perform routine and special laboratory assays, calibrate equipment, and ensure accurate reporting of results.

The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field and CAP competency qualifications. Extensive responsibilities include quality control, instrument maintenance and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical, physical, clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Must meet CAP competency assessment qualifications and have the education/experience to evaluate testing complexity.

Responsibilities

• Performs chemical, microscopic and/or bacteriologic tests to aid diagnosis and treatment.
• Executes tests in chemistry, hematology, morphology, cytology, urinalysis, serology, histology or bacteriology.
• Performs sampling, testing and recording duties for chemical analysis of body fluids.
• Operates analytic devices and validates instrument performance.
• Interprets test results and documents findings in the computer system.
• Performs quality control and routine maintenance on instruments.
