Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Current Florida Medical Technologist License is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cultures of tissue samples.
• Establishes programs to ensure data accuracy.
• Examines slides of bodily fluids using a microscope or similar equipment.
• Crossmatches blood for transfusions.
• Analyzes urine chemically to identify components and studies blood morphology.
• Delivers test results to physicians, researchers and patients.
• Operates, calibrates, and safeguards laboratory equipment.
• Identifies unusual results and takes corrective action.
